You're volume won't change really... just the long dimension.

sure the volume changes, it stretches the plastic out.  ours did the same thing and i put a pieve o plywood on each side and ratchet strapped it together and now the bulges face in a little.

it's no biggie, I might knock together a frame from angle iron when i get a chance...that sucker won't move at all.

How could the dimension if the vessel change but the volume not?

On a fixed size object (no stretching, though it is likely in this case) what you add to one dimension
you take from another.

The tanks bulge....it's just a vessel to hold the fluid...thats what's important...not how the tank looks.  If it still holds fluid and you can still get your screens clean that's all that really matters

Either the lid will still fit after you filled up the tank which means the vessel does not bulge and that is as it should be if you ask me or the tank bulges and the lid is just there for reasons of decorations before and during sales and to give me something to moan about;)

the volume will increase, just like a cylinder formed with an 8.5x11 piece of paper holds more volume made the fat way instead of the tall skinny way

we made a 2x4 frame not unlike what was just posted
