Buying discharge white
« on: June 26, 2012, 05:04:11 PM »
I know this has been talked about, but who has a good one part discharge  white, I have some plasticharge which you have to mix then toss,  is there some already mixed for ready print.  It gets to be a waste tossing ink if you make to much.

You have to get the discharge agent and add it in. The ink has a shelf life so you cant get ready to print out of the can discharge white. We have tested Rutland, Sericol, A couple of peoples house brands and we have settled on CCI. Great optical brightness and great support.

Yeah Darryl, the powder is what actually does the discharge reaction and has a limited print life once mixed in the ink. The only way to do it is to mix less than you think you will need. It only takes a couple minutes to whip up some more.

There isn't much need to try anything but the CCI D-white, it's gonna be your best bet.  And like Gerry said, the Sericol for the colors is the ticket.  With those two product lines, your set and it's freaking easy to use.

I was wondering if anybody else caught that as well.  Mike Hunt.  HAHA.  I had a customer named Jim Hunt, everybody just called him Mike's brother.

you guys like the CCI white over the sericol HO white? I had the sericol  -it dried in the screens a bit fast for us, we have had good luck with the matsui white, I know you guys don't care for it. . my local vendors carry cci stuff, maybe I'll snag a sample. with the matsui, we let the screens stand for over an hour to see if they would plug, and nothing. right back to printing. we had about 15-20 seconds on the sericol. I know the pigment load may be different so that might have a ton to do with it.
...keep doing what you're doing, you'll only get what you've got...

It actually has alot to do with the solvent content. The CCI has alot more solvent in it so it has alot better screen open time.
