Noob!
« on: May 30, 2012, 04:34:23 PM »
Ok well I have been lurking on here for some time now.......I work for a sports store that has a screen print shop and I'm the Graphic Artist there. I have been in this position for a little over a year now and in that time frame I have learned that this is what I want to do for the rest of my life! The shop I work for is no where near the best shop to learn this industry from so I have have done TONS of research and asked a million questions (because my design background is in catalog and web work mainly) and I have been able to help this shop progress a little but no where near where it should be. We do mainly sports/school stuff nothing too fancy and it's all spot printing. Our biggest job happens once a year and it close to 5K pieces and that takes us a couple of weeks to do. Other than that we do mainly less than 200pcs that are 1-2color.

Anyway, I intend to try and learn as much as I can before I venture off on my own someday and forums like this one have helped me learn the little bit that I currently know.

Nick

Yes, we've won our share of awards, and yes, I've tested stuff and read the scientific papers, but ultimately take everything I say with more than just a grain of salt! So if you are looking for trouble, just do as I say or even better, do something I said years ago!

stupid question example: I told one of the guys I had to go see my chiropractor yesterday, he asked my why, so I told him I had a toothache... he's a good friend, so he just told me to F myself hee hee
I made a mistake once; I thought I was wrong about something; I wasn't

LOL!!! Thanks for all the comical welcomes!

I have tons of questions just not sure how to ask them. I have questions regarding my current position/shop and then I have 10tons of questions for my soon to be shop. ;0)

Frog, those are pretty big words for this little tadpole!

Study the Forum index a bit, figure out the most appropriate section, and ask away.
