Polyken Tape

Going to take the plunge again for Newman frame protection. Don't like the Newman yellow,
and our screens are actually lasting long enough these days so that the removal process
would be worth the extra protection.

Wanted to ask:

Polyken 221?

2" or 3"?

Any particular distributor?

walmart they call it Gorilla Tape works the nuts and it ain't bad on the screens either

We use the 221 in 2".  I've thought about trying the 3" but my supplier doesn't carry the 3" version.  The 2 is plenty wide enough for what we use it for.

Alan, are you protecting rollers with it or something else?

I currently use 2" r-tape to protect my rollers, and it seems wide enough, but
more could always be better.

Now if I can find someone not on the East Coast that carries it.

You guys have a Denco out there, right?  R-tape guy came by with our account rep this spring.
They also carry AWT's chem tape, it's actually a hair thicker than the polyken, but otherwise very similar.


Be careful with the 3" if you try it--if there's a lot of width on the free mesh, the glue could get through well enough to adhere to your exposure blanket.  Not too much fun.

Yep, Denco down the street. I wondered if the AWT stuff was the same, they only
have the 2" so I'll check some out. Thanks for the tip.
