Print with underbase

I'm getting ready to do a print Flo greenwith a white underbase.

My question is how much do you choke down the white??

1 point??
.5 point??

I imagine you will get different answers and depends on your press.  I'd say anywhere between .05 and 1pt.  Most of the people asking for 1pt are typically on manual presses but does not mean that all manual printers require that. Some do ask for .05 I've had a few ask for 2.

As small as you and your press can hold. I generally try for 1/2 point.

I'll choke the under base 1 or stroke the overlay by 1 depending on the artwork

With flo. green you might have to double print the underbase for the effect you want,
which would mean more spread, and hence choke. Maybe .75.

I think something needs to be explained here. One point in Illustrator. It is not a one point choke. Illustrator, unless you change it, will put a 1 point stroke centered on the outline of the object. This means .5 of a point outside the object and .5 of a point inside of the object. It is really a .5 point choke.

Just remember that when you ad 1 point stroke that you are actually chocking the white by only a .5 pt.

Sericol has a pre-mix flo green discharge that is ridiculously bright. No choke no second screen no registering. I know you're not going to do it that way just thought I'd mention

The Sericol Flo. green is bright as is the red.
