So I'm asked to go into my daughter's "The Little Gym" because a computer was having issues. Well, the two just out of HS "instructors" start talking about skills that they can't do on the gym floor, (Front Hand Spring, Back Hip Circle). So I'm intrigued because these things are pretty easy... I'm sloppy but I'm confident I can do them even though I haven't done a hand spring in a few years and a back hip circle in probably 15-20 years!
So I go see them and wow, they are sucking it up... pretty pathetic. So Mr. 35 and out of shape decides to show them up. I hop up on the bar and complete a VERY sloppy back hip circle, explain they are doing weenie pull overs (granted I could barely do them back in the day, so I certainly can't do it now). Then I watch them fail and handstand front rolls. Show them some dive rolls (it was mentioned how graceful I was, I was shocked). Then show them a beautiful front hand spring and then I get the idea. Hey, this is a padded floor, I can do a round off back hand spring... I did it... very poorly, but I got over.
Then my finger felt odd... I pulled it no change... I bent it to the side like I was gonna crack a knuckle and umm.. OUCH! I went get an ice balloon (yeah, it's for kids)... the girl was like "I thought I heard a crack"... thanks.
So it seems I broke my left index finger, walked next door to the grocery store and bought a splint.
So now (though it may not seem like it), I'm having a bit of difficulty typing with 9 fingers. Lucky you guys.
