How the he!! do they get away with it?
« on: March 14, 2012, 12:24:32 AM »
I just happened to bop into the local sporting goods store this evening.

While I was not looking for a printed shirt, I could not help noting all the Houston Texans "licensed" T-shirts.  And like most of you, I suddenly became a critic.

I had to dig though a lot to find this one -

But just about ALL of them looked more like these.....and yes, that IS missing ink -

I know I would not buy one!!!!

And all had the "official" licensed tag of the NFL, shesh.

No idea how some of these companies get (or hold on to) the contracts.......

In San Francisco, when the 49'rs finally took off in '79 or whenever, folks were paying a premium for faded hats to appear as long time supporters.
Maybe the faded distressed look here is a similar marketing ploy. They've been around long enough now for even good prints to fade and crack a bit. lol!

When we've run out of ink it appears as streaks vertically through the print.

Never an all over the design issue. Maybe it's waterbase that dried in? Air compressor
quit? Incredible lint issue?
