A couple of AI and a pdf file I need help with
« on: March 13, 2012, 12:38:02 PM »
My usual go-to guys are both apparently busy or napping.
I am attaching the pdf as it may suffice. It needs to be uncompressed to open in my CorewDRAW

TIA

Thanks Dennis. The ai file you posted opens fine, but, as you may have noticed, they didn't create the fade in white, so if I go ahead with this, it will take some fiddling.

Oh, and did I mention?  this s a one day rush job!

And Sean, thank you as well  Your eps opens fine as well, but of course, has the same problem with the fade and even more complicated by the dreaded adobe slivers.

I have a feeling that they are bailing anyway, but I wanted to have all of my ducks in a row.

Scott, thanks to you too, I didn't even open yours yet, but all of you, how do I get the fade included the one white screen?

Gotta leave for a few, but will anxiously be awaiting the answer.

It's a simple shape, two shapes actually for the V, probably just re-create them in Draw.

Displays (and seps) fine here of course.

I'm guessing it's a transparency gradient issue. I know Corel
and Illy treat those differently.

That's a good one as well Doug. I have what I need now folks!

What I realized as soon as I went out the door for my mandatory dog walk (in the rain today) was since, in the pdf or ai files, the "faded" objects were easily selected, and refilled as I needed via the fountain fill in CorelDRAW.
Once again, thanks all.

For that matter, I probably could have gotten the logo part on an appropriate site.

I only hope that this place is as great a resource for all of you as it is for me.  ;D

If you ever need help and your normal peeps aren't around, shoot me a email. I was able to open the PDF in DRAW and could have saved it down for you

So, I assume that's a feature in v5 vs v4.
I got the dreaded Compressed notice.

X5 handles compressed files better than X4 yet is limited to CS versions prior to X5 beings released. Any CS versions after the release of X5 will NOT open a compressed file due to code being changed on Illy's end. Possible Service Packs have been updated to work with more current CS versions yet I know some still don't open.  Adobe keeps changing parts of the code with every version and it seems Corel releases their latest version before Adobe does thus some things just not transferring between the two properly.
