this one:

comes with a $2k video card that will make the Photoshop fly. You'll need a copy of Win7 64 bit and some extra RAM. Probably looking at $600. Closest you can get to that new is probably around $4k right now. Similar performing Mac is probably close to $5k.

They should have the memory you need when you buy the computer.

Will Windows 7 work? This is what the website says:

Operating System Status : License Only - No OS Installed
Operating System : Win Vista Bus 64-bit

Sorry I dont understand this stuff. Pierre what makes this the way to go? What features stand out that make it better/faster?

ScreenFoo:
Heh heh... yeah, If I were you, I'd just go ahead and burn that vista license if you buy that computer...   ;)

A Quadro processor is pretty out of control though, especially for that price range...

it is windows 7 compatible. You should be able to buy an upgrade version and use the Vista license to get it going. Should save you a little bit of money.

These boxes at that price seem to be the best bang for the buck. You can go faster, but it will cost you. Also, you are getting a $2k video card designed for serious work that makes these boxes fly when used for artwork design and processing.
They are also very stable and reliable. The one listed is probably a few years old, but it is new enough to be an excellent deal.

Generally, I tell ppl not to use their main work computer for anything other than working. More stuff you throw on it, slower it will get. Keep only few programs on it, avoid installing and deleting stuff and it will serve you well for many years!
