Help! Dinged up floodbars
« on: February 19, 2012, 11:04:44 PM »
Hey Everyone,
So we have some dinged up flood bars and they are starting to rip screens. I know i can use some kind of polishing wheel attached to our grinder. Just not sure what to get. Does anyone have any ideas?

I've seen this but seems a little expensive.

I am sure if you dig around you can find wheels similar to those.  I think their price includes the grinder.  Not an awful deal.

Why are your bars dinged?  I have some from the mid-90's that are still in great shape.  I treat them like I treat the squeegees.

Just buff them down with a 3m buffing pad available at Home Depot. Even a sanding block with very fine grit sandpaper works fine. A little more care in storing them is in order!

Thanks guys. I'll check out the buffing wheel. Maybe i'll run employees hands in it as well to teach them a lesson ;)

Ink you can take a block of wood and slide back and forth across your floodbar blades and it will smooth them out without messing anything up, I do my coaters like that all the time.
