My kids can pay for their own school. My sister went to school for 8 years, finished up and doesn't owe a dime in student loans. She actually was on a 7 year program, so she did pretty darn well.

Well I am currently on a 4 yr plan with my son and he has 1 year left.....Woo Hoooo
My girl is is a Soph. so I get a break before I start again.
So far we have not had to go to the Student loans but if he wants to futher his knowledge then he will find out about them.
Yes she did do very well !! ( Your Sister).
My son is going into the medical field so I hope and pray he gets accepted into the program this Spring.

I think people take their education more seriously when they have to pay for it. Just like a car and a phone and other "luxuries"

I agree with that but when my kids were young I said I would support them in whatever they decided to do as long as they kept thier nose clean and kept an A average through school. As many say " I want my kids to have it better than I did". I guess I fall into that catagory but if they do not make the grades then the gig is over and they know that. My son did have some scholarships that came in handy that he picked up.
