design size for a hoodie
« on: February 10, 2012, 01:26:51 PM »
I was hoping someone could check what the max print size would be on a small pullover hoodie with the front pocket. I don't have one in stock otherwise yes I would just measure. Thanks

Thanks, do you think 10 would fit even though it would look funny?

Problem with the poncho pocket on hoodies is the placing or size is not consistent, if you try to push the image size to the max you may end up with a hoodie that the image will not fit on.

We make sure the pocket is straight in regards to the print because hoodie necks can be kind of inconsistant for centering. 10" will really be maxing it out depending on what brand and style you ordered. I would stick with the 9" as sam suggested.

As a rule of thumb I always try to just make it a habit to design in a rectangular shape (wider than tall) when a hoodies are involved that way I can get plenty of leeway for design coverage if I want it. There are always those times though when they get thrown in after the fact. Happened to me the other day and had to output two different size seps. I would leave plenty of space for the ledge the pocket will create so I would definitively ere on the smaller size if I were you.
