Got some industrial mystery degreaser
« on: January 29, 2012, 01:25:10 PM »
A buddy of mine's father owns a oilfield rental company and has large containers of degreaser concentrate so he gave me about two gallons of it.

So how do I figure out how to cut this?  Is there a danger of it being "too concentrated"?

I've got some old mesh and some brand new busted mesh I could test it on... what kind of test should I conduct?

Who's getting crude on your screens?   ;)

Isn't that stuff for "eating" petroleum products?

Wouldn't a degreaser that gets of crude be able to degrease our screens?

It's probably way more expensive, but when you don't have to pay for it. ;)

M.X. #1 is a proprietary blend of bacteria, nutrients and washing agents

That stuff would be fabulous for cleaning crude oil off a rock or a bird, but probably not your screens.

There is scarcely anything in the world that some man cannot make a little worse, and sell a little more cheaply. The person who buys on price alone is this man's lawful prey.

yeah, if you are worried about price, just use diluted dawn dishsoap....which also takes the crude off of birds.

Yeah, it has 7% sodium metasilicate and then the bio stuff... so it probably will work.

I dipped some mesh in it the other day to see how it holds up... I forgot about it... so it has time to dry on there for days now.  That will be a good test. ;)

Nope, just hoping it's not flesh eating bacteria.
