Print on poly and tri-blends? Try this Ink!!!

Rutland has quietly released their HSA (High Solids Acrylic) ink for just this application. This ink shows some extreme promise folks. It is opaque and elastic and very soft as it is a waterbase product. It is offered in the mixing color pallette as well as white and black. I am beta testing for several applications but a white/flash/white is amazing. I'm keeping to 160/110 mesh as it tends to dry in the screen however there is an open time extender which minimizes this.
I will be testing this as an UB for plastisol. If it holds up like I believe it just might change your world. This is not discharge, has low bleed characteristics and there is no activator or shelf life. Works fine on cotton. They were distributing to Nike printers quietly until now (apparently there was some agreement which has expired)

I saw some Acrylic ink at ISS long beach. It is really nice. The feel is amazing. Kind of rubbery and will stretch forever without distorting (after stretching). I saw some on dryfit and some on a cotton shirt. I didn't know it was waterbase. It was in the Special effects class from International Coatings. I don't think they are selling it yet.

Interesting news Tony! Is there after flash tack? This might be something I could use on those dreaded poly Under Armour hoodies.

It appears not.....they suggest an air assist flash unit but I didn't need one. I need to run in production on the auto to know for sure. Not sure if it's for manual printing but on the auto in flood mode with some extender I do not anticipate a problem. It will be awesome on dry fits as it is highly elastic.

the rutland product is a waterbase product but it runs and flashes great on a auto.p/f/p as tony said. in fact its super white. as far as triblends it totally mats down the threads and gives a really good hand. according to rutland it will work excellent on the underarmour. i have ran a couple gallons of it now with exciting results. thanks tony its been great talkin screen printing with you.

What are the curing specs?

320 for 90 seconds is Rutlands spec.   all dryers are different as far as belt speed, temp etc.so i would do wash samples after testing and document what works for your shop.

screengear, what you saw from international coatings is the wb99 series. after rutland let it go to develope the HSA international coatings picked it up. if you liked that give the HSA a shot.

To be honest with you I have no idea what ink it was. I just know it was Acrylic. I am sure your right. You can get that ink now? Wait, I need to focus this year. I have so much more to learn and I can't be testing another new ink. (ok maybe in 6 months)
