heat applied foil
Sbrem:
Hey you guys, I have a customer inquiring about having a design in which part of it is gold foil, and though I've read about a bunch of times, I've never actually done it. Does anyone here do it and have a recommendation for a favorite brand of materials?

ebscreen:
Crown Roll Leaf. In Jersey somewhere. Nice folks. COD only though.
If only one of the colors is foil, the others must be waterbase or plastisol
with the resist. I have no experience with the resist product though,
but we get perfect result with waterbase.
Homer:
I just ran a job with resist from wilflex, works ok, just mix it really well. 60 - 80 mesh, use foil adhesive, for best results. light pressure, low temp around 300 works fine. wb is the best way to roll though.
bimmridder:
If you use the foil resist additive, make sure you don't over cure. Too high temps will reduce the effectiveness of the additive. Don't ask how I know.
blue moon:
all of the above!
We just use the foil when it is not close to other colors. . . I did find the glue to work better than the ink. It has to go through thick mesh.
There is a way to do it without foil resist, but it is not as crisp and not sure of the longevity. Makes for a neat display, but not much more than that.
