Coloring in your Art program?
« on: March 25, 2025, 03:25:30 PM »
I know this is the wrong place but anyway I was sepping art sent to me by another artist and I notice they did all there shading of colors with the transparency tool instead of the tint tool, is there an advantage using the trans tool? or the tint tool slider, I know they do have a little different function.  I know for years now if I wanted a tint of a solid color then the tint tool is my go to, I was just curious that's all.
Life is like Kool-Aid, gotta add sugar/hardwork to make it sweet!!

Great questions.   One that I think I have posted a vicious on a few yrs ago explaining the differences. I think I may have posted a link here in the art section.

In a nutshell,  tint uses computer white in the reverse areas of “the white” areas of your color tint. Whatever % that is white….knocks out…if anything below it.

Transparency not only does not put white in the area of the see through parts but also enables you to choose “multiply” for that item and gives you a visual of the blending going on. For example, 30% blue over top of 100% yellow giving you more of a representation of how it will print resulting in a greenish yellow.
