Makes me harken back to the early days of Harlequin, Oats, JNJ  where all designs were/are repeat runs. Tens of thousands of films in hanging files. Or at Harlequin Nature Graphics..........a shipping container!

Isn't the carbon footprint impact of printing the films over and over a factor?

The printing process is already not that great for the environment, why make it worse when you dont have to? Filling landfills with more plastic than is necessary seems a bit irresponsible. All to save a little time?

When we decide to remove old films from our customers files, they get thrown into a stack that gets used later to mask off screens when some masking is needed. Like for times when you have multiple stencils in the same screen. Masking helps save us from ink changes sometimes. Just lay the film print side down (smooth side up) and tape it in place. This allows us to use way less tape/vinyl. We also reuse any vinyl leftover from the plotter, which is cut down into squares for masking registration marks and also used for taping screens. We don't tape screens hardly ever, we just coat wider than the pallet, so taping off screens is not needed. We buy maybe 6 rolls of PMI blue tape a year. Taping off every screen is such a waste of time and all that plastic in the landfill is gross. Sorry PMI! Well, not really. lol
