Small Frames
« on: December 19, 2024, 10:15:07 AM »
Helping a kid with an art project. I am looking for small frames with mesh, around 8"x6"  - 10"x8"or so. Any ideas where to source? Also looking for ink the screen onto paper, be great if it dried to touch fairly quickly. Any reply is much appreciated !

You can probably find some hat frames or custom.
I use lots of solvent inks for mylar balloons. You have to work fast so the ink does not dry in the screen… Nazdar 7200

How quickly does the print need to be dry to the touch? I worked as a camp counselor teaching 8-12 yr olds how to screen print, and we used the basic acrylic ink Speedball kit.

I've seen a fair variety of small frame screens at my local Blick, usually around 8" x 10" with 110 white mesh.

My manager that works here graduated in fine arts from college. She has been using jacquard inks. She's been printing on paper. She also says it dries quick..

Should be able to get what you need from here  - https://www.dickblick.com/brands/jacquard/

In ether case or at least for Blick, you should be able to use glycerin as a retarder. Nice and safe.

Send specs Robert, we likely have something that will work. We'll even burn them for you if you want.
Standard WB inks (for textiles) are fine for paper goods.

They will but they will be dry not cured. Hair dryer should fix/cure safely.

Wow I started off using DickBlick so many years ago I thought they had gone out of business, you might can go to your local craft store and find a WB screen print kit.  WB inks was all I ever used until I got plastisol and life changed LOL, maybe I should have stayed with WB  ;D
Life is like Kool-Aid, gotta add sugar/hardwork to make it sweet!!
