Winter Break Cleaning
« on: November 20, 2024, 11:30:57 AM »
Don't know about you guy's and gal's but it's slowing down here and it's time to do a few repairs and clean up, this morning I was checking my flash unit's on the press and wow. I thought I did a good job of keeping the blades clean but once I really looked inside it was a lint mine.  So after we finish doing some heat pressing it's time to do a really good cleaning on the flash unit's, so is it shop cleaning time around your place or do you keep your shop clean every day (Not Me)  :(

We just finished most of our deeper cleaning and improvements as peak season is just around the corner. All 12 flashes were opened up, blown out, blowers opened and cleaned, reflectors cleaned, everything I can think of. Of course all presses cleaned to look as close to new as possible. Fixing any little that that's been on the "when I get time" list. Hung a bunch of new LEDs over presses, badly overdue. Cleaned and organized over 1100 quarts of ink. Almost all caught up on stretching screens. (yep, still using Newman frames) Making sure all my guys can walk up to any press and run it. Relaxed a little bit. Now getting ready to start bringing in the temps and ready for crazy time to start.

I'm looking forward to and hoping it does slow down. Not really sure what happened here this year, right now I'm 11,000 impressions over where I finished last year, I'm 2 weeks behind and they keep coming. Plus all the banners, signs and decals. Too many weekends here. :( Grateful for all the work, but it's relentless. I raised prices back at the beginning of the year so that's helped.  ;)
People keep asking me when I'm going to hire help, It's not happening...never again. Finding some time to clean would be nice, it's a mess in here.
