Swatch color scanner
« on: October 02, 2024, 08:10:51 AM »
Has anyone used a Nix 3 or Color Muse colorimeter for scanning printed test swatches?
I want to take our 4x4" test swatches, scan with a device to get a Lab (or worst case a Hex) value, then add that to Illustrator as a swatch. Preferably straight to a mac desktop-seems some of these devices deal directly with a smartphone.

I have hundreds of test swatches and it's easier to select from those than go through the translation of pantone, test print, adjust. Holding up the swatch to a monitor to get it close isn't working well enough.

I don't really care about getting the closest pantone color since the color mixing programs aren't usually that accurate anyway.
