Design Placement on Hoody Back

Maybe this is crazy, but we let the customer decide. We tell the pros and cons of different placements. Customers decides and signs off on it. If they tell us to use our discretion, they still sign off on it. Crazy maybe, but it works for us.

What do you guys consider a "correct" location for a back print on a regular tee?

1 inch lower than a normal tee, subject to change depending on the design. Hows that for a run on sentence

Minimum 8" down from the collar.
No one walks around with their hood up all day,
and if they do, don't worry about it from a printing perspective ( or life, and 8" is still low enough for both )
Zip hoodies, you gotta go lower, the hood will hang lower because of the split front.
Zip hoodies are usually worn open, so the hood hangs lower.
But, it all depends on the brand, so, have a look at how it is.

Both styles of hoods vary greatly in how they sit on a bunch of different shoulders.

Basically, you're totally f*cked no matter what you do.
Someone will bitch.
Loudly.
and you're the assh*le no matter what you've tried.

Embrace that.
You will become a screenprinter of hooded fleese garments.

I can really feel ya, Got a couple of rejects on this subject. "Gotta be real specific with client " That's for sure

I spent the weekend replacing 24 hoodies because the customer bitched that I printed it down too low... too further kick me in the nuts the hoodies had a 4 color flag left arm 1 color down the sleeve right arm , 2 color front and 2 color back. Tried to refund and give them free hoodies but they demanded a reprint instead because really I hated the job the first time around... They wanted the print higher up like a normal back print.

We've been through the same situation, some people don't get it. We reprinted them closer to the neck and the guy was unhappy that the hood was covering his design. You can't please everyone.
