Technically it's Joe Walsh vs AI but I thought that would get your attention. Please take down if not relevant but it's Friday and it's been a busy week. He said he wasn't worried and not paying attention to AI until it "can throw a TV out of a 5th floor hotel window into a pool."

That is hands down the funniest thing I have heard all week. I personally think everyone should know who Joe Walsh is but that's just me.

I read that interview and laughed so hard coffee came out of my nose.
Such a poignant statement on the state of humanity framed in the context of rock and rollers thrashing hotel rooms.
And he's right of course.

That is, until, AI does start throwing TV's out of hotel windows...

Met him while i was in the Navy. I was the one taking pictures of the event. He broke away from the escort team and ran all around the ship while they were chasing him. At one point he popped his head out of the hatch, saw me and bolted in the other direction. He ran around for 15 min or so playing hide and seek with the escort team. CO was not happy! I’m pretty sure he was high as a kite.

I'd argue age has a lot to do with this.  I wouldn't be worried about AI either if I was in my 70s.  I'm in my 30s though, so AI will definitely have a huge impact on my life.

For poop and laughter I just traced the same photo in your second link and in Illy.
Illly wins hands down.

But, it illustrates a point as well. I don't think that using some machine learned algorithms
for vector tracing would qualify as artificial intelligence. Which is another sign inherit to dog and pony shows,
trotting out the buzzword ad nauseum.

The real money was in selling .ai domains last year, apparently.

The AI part is not that it's artificial intelligence.  It's that it refines it's algorithms to continuously get better and better.  Perhaps it's more "Machine Learning" at this point but it's definitely very useful.  We have an employee using it to do programming, scripting, automation that saves tons of hours a time a week already. 

People seem to be getting hung up on it not being capable enough and that it never will be, while I know of people using it to save a lot of time every week already.  IMO it's happening and it's going to accelerate not stagnate like I'm getting the idea of posts on here.

I've used Vectorizer.ai several times and most of the time it does a fantastic job.  I will definitely be paying for this when they require a membership.  It's saved me a great amount of time.  I think the vectorizers out there are hating this.

I just gave vectorizer.ai a try with a difficult image I have, a 3 color that Illy's Image Trace didn't do well with, so I was about to sep it in PS. The result was really, really good, and I don't care much for traces as a rule. I gotta keep an open mind though. I'll be out of the game in a while, but I love seeing all the tech that's going on out there.
