Discharge on Hoodies
« on: November 02, 2022, 11:58:32 AM »
Anyone print a (Discharge base) with water base inks on top on Hoodies?  Do I need a really low mesh like a 110?
The art is Big, bold letters using all solid athletic design.

I’m just wondering just how much ink penetration I’d need to get on Hoodies to get it to discharge well and show bright.

Definitely be careful to not go too low mesh with water based ink - can end up just seeping / dripping through the screens.  I remember trying a 135S once because I wanted more ink down - the ink dripped through very slowly after reflooding the screen! So I kept to 150S and 225S from there on. Should just be mesh opening size related so T thread should be able to go slightly lower (but hopefully isn't needed).

I only did water based discharge fleece once and it was with a 150S mesh.
