St. Jude
« on: January 18, 2012, 09:21:35 AM »
Here is a tough one.
Guy comes in and wants the St. Jude logo on 800 sweatshirts, and 500 t-shirts.  He holds an annual event that to date has raised right at $100,000.00 for St. Jude.
If you call Memphis, they will not give you permissin to print their logo.  Local office looks the other way.
You going to print them?

I'm not! You kind of set the rules for us with the (I assume) head office in Memphis officially putting the kibosh on it.
Now, if the local office did more than just look the other way, it would be different. Perhaps you or your client should get them to go to bat for you, perhaps have some involvement with the event and shirt sale, and then you could print it legitimately.

That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

How does the guy ordering fit in with St. Jude? Zero affiliation with them?

If you had the local Guy provide the logo and state in writing that he is associated with them and has permission to use the logo that should be all you need to cover yourself would it not??  This was a question not a statement.

Well, the local guy that is doing the fund raising is on his own.  He doesn't work for them.  He lost a son years ago and feels the need to help out.  We have the logo's as we do a lot for the local affiliate.

If he wants to help them, he should not have any issues contacting them and getting the permit.
