Best practices for thin thread mesh
« on: May 17, 2023, 08:05:36 AM »
I bought an auto earlier this year, I've been printing with manuals for 30 years. Got a few frames with the press, but needed more. I just bought some static Hidro mesh frames in 157 and 230 and I'd appreciate any pointers.
One question, do you find exposure times to be longer for thin thread?
Thanks,
Wm.

I found HiDro's more durable than S-Thread. Use the soft white scrub pads when reclaiming or just a sponge, nothing too rough. I linked the white pads I've been using for a while now and they seem to be working great and haven't been getting any random small holes. It's been a while since I used anything but thin thread, but I don't think the exposure time is longer. On the LED unit I use, it's about 25 seconds for a 157 and 15 seconds for a 230. I use Ulano Orange emulsion.

Thanks for the info. I'll check out the white scrub pads, might just use a sponge. I don't do a lot of scrubbing. Dip tank, pressure wash then scrub a little 701. Might use those or a sponge for 701. I've been using a soft brush that I only use for 701 after the screens are pressure washed. From what I have gathered, I need to move away from the brush with thin thread.

I am seeing a bit longer for exposure times compared to regular mesh with a Workhorse Photosharp.
