ROQ rear clamp and pallets question

That`s something I started wondering about just recently. On the ROQ presses, the rear clamp has to sit behind the pallet or it doesn`t matter if it is on or better over the pallet? Now if it is over the pallet how do you achieve zero off contact?

i've been on this journey for 4 years. and still haven't figured it out.

We use an oversized registration board, and when we set up screens, we have to raise our OC very high, lock it in, then bring it down. it's very silly.

But once your job is set up, do the print pallets fall between the front and rear clamp or does the rear clamp sit over the pallets rather than behind them? The rear clamp is how thick, maybe 2-3 mm plus a little distance to the pallet.

This is probably not helpful at all, but we recently had a tech come in, and he showed me how he navigates this issue with the rear clamp hitting the PRU pallet during set up.  Bring the rear clamp up to the rear of the screen, and while the printhead is in maintenance position above the PRU pallet, hit the "print head down" button.  Then *slowly* manually drop your screen onto the PRU and lock in the maintenance clamp, to lock it in above the PRU.  If the back clamp is too "low", it will not lock in, and the off contact needs to be raised a tiny bit, until it does lock in.  This allows you to clamp the front and back clamps on the PRU without worrying about damaging your PRU board when you hit "print head down"

(before we were just locking in the front clamps using the PRU, bringing the print head up, then sliding the rear clamp and locking, which never seemed correct). 

Doesn't solve the issue of setting up a job on the PRU with zero off contact.  Might be a help for people confused about the back clamp hitting the PRU registration pallet, it has helped me with PRU setup a ton

This is correct, and what we have found as well.

I talked with ROQ about this at ISS, and they were not aware of the issue.
