Dye ink for film recommendation

(1/2) > >>

nicolas:
Is there a big difference in the quality of the ink as far as UV blocking, fading, clogging? We still don't have the volume to justify a CTS yet and are having some issues with the ink we are using. Just want to get some advice on what UV dye ink fellow printers are using for making films. We use CIS on a Epson 1400 and 1430. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks and happy printing.

When we used a 1400, and we went through 4 of them, we bought dye based ink from MIS. It was dirt cheap and worked great. We are on a T3270 for our films, and use Epson's Photo Black (not the Matte Black). Yes, it's much more expensive, but we're not going out of business due to ink costs, and we don't worry about it working or not.

Thank guys. I will check into the options you suggested. I'm going to order a bottle of each and try them out.  Really appreciate the help.
