She's alive.  We finally got power and gas ran to the beast and guess what?  We turned it on, turned on the burner and within seconds, it fired right up and ran for the next 5 hours without a single issue and held perfect temp and damn is all I got to say.  What a piece of equipment.  I can't wait to see other manufacturer's dryers to compare this thing, but the few that I have seen couldn't hold this things jock strap, what a freaking tool this is.  I am as impressed with this equipment as I was the auto when we got it installed, and that is saying something right there.

Matt, M&R tech hard at work.

Thank you Rich Hoffman and M&R crew, you've done a hell of a job here with this dryer and I am very proud to have it in our shop.

Matt is an incredible tech and an awesome guy!  That dryer is beautiful, I'm hoping to install one later this year.

Your post reminded me on "you-know-who's" posts. A lot of pics of a "blue" equipment.  LOL

Dryer looks great, but I could not see where the press is located next to the dryer. I hope it is not too far away :)

From the end of the pallet to the edge of the belt, it's 26 inches.  Perfect fit, it's about a foot closer than with the old dryer.  My printer was a little hesitant with the new distance but I told him to get back with me in a few weeks and if he still doesn't like it, we can move it.

My bad. I did not even see the press in second-to-last picture.

I wanted to bring this thread back to the top since getting our latest electricity bill.  This is the first full cycle that the dryer was on because the last bill had about one week of the old Texair still running.

DRUM ROLL PLEASE.....................................................................

Old average monthly bill for the screen printing building using a 1991ish, American Texair gas and 3 radiant panels, 48" belt width, 10' long heat chamber................$1150.00

Electricity bill for February with the M&R Sprint International 60" belt width, 12' heat chamber...$496.00

I'll admit, I was nervous when Charlotte was opening that envelope, and the look on her face at first was not good so I was bracing myself for the worst.  It turned out that she was not reading it correctly the first time she looked at it then her jaw dropped to the desk and she showed me the bill.  I am freaking pumped right now.  I need to go find the latest gas bill and compare that too.  I'll post back, good or bad, when I find that bill.

A potential $7800 a year. You just paid for the Sidewinder plus a holiday dinner party for the crew.

I'm also thinking that it might be using less gas even though it's significantly bigger than the old texair.

Alan

that is why I would love to figure out the ROI on that machine...

sounds great..I know we went from our 800's electric bill to around 140 bucks a month and our gas is still only 170ish for the month....we are killing it....plus have a better dryer and bigger dryer

I'd be interested in seeing the gas usage just for academic reasons.

A BTU is a BTU and turning energy into heat is pretty simple... obviously it's easy to be wasteful with gas but only when you aren't trying to use it for heat.  I'd HOPE that the difference is minimal... if you make commercial gas burners you better know a thing or two about it and make it fairly efficient.  Then again, when you got thousands of jets in there if you "cut corners" to save cost that can DEFINITELY get exponentially wasteful and quick!

I'd think the major difference would be insulation.

True, I hadn't thought of that... design from that perspective definitely would make a difference.

I was strictly thinking of heat like in a heater like my grandparents had in their old house or a burner on a stove or torch.  But in an "oven", especially an "open" one... things do get muddied up in that regard.
