Opportunity is missed by most people because it is dressed in overalls and looks like work. - Thomas Edison
Hey folks, I’m swallowing my pride again and I’m going to gently beg. I imagine most of you don’t know, but my city, Cedar Rapids, IA was hit by a derecho last Monday. (Google derecho in Cedar Rapids) Nine days later we still have thousands without power. I’m doing this on my phone because of no phone or internet here. Beyond no power for many, so many have lost their home, clothing, and basic living necessities. We have families living in tents outside their home or apartment. Help is slow in coming. Things like diapers are expensive and even hard to find. It’s sad to see how some are forced to live right now. So, I’m just asking, if you have anything you’d like to send our way, I’d get them to the Red Cross or United way. I can try to help with any freight, to a point. It sucks that I feel the need to do this, but it sucks more for so many families here. (Parts of town look like, or worse than third world countries). If you have anything you’d like to give, texting is the best way to contact me. And even if you don’t, a prayer or good thought can’t hurt. Thanks for reading. Dave-Bimm Ridder. 319.389.3428. Thanks

I watch his channel occasionally.
I finally got phone and internet last night. (I am really bad trying to type using my phone) Right now I think anything could be used. Twelve days later and most people have power back. Yet many don't have a home. On top of that, temperatures are going to be in the low to mid 90s and of course high humidity, for the next 5-7 days.
