Conversion of files
« on: July 23, 2020, 11:51:13 AM »
I was wondering if someone could possible convert 3 AI files for me.  I am using Corel X7 and they don't want to convert for me.  I probably should upgrade my Corel.

Thanks in Advance

What do you need them converted to? It's been a while, but I think a pdf works in Corel, maybe Frog can chime in, I've converted a few for him...

Usually works fine. Newish version AI files, opened or placed in Illy and converted to pdf's are usually good to go in my CorelDRAW X6. (Unconverted text apparently benefits from "Placing")
Only complication is many times, previously grouped objects are now ungrouped. If I don't need to manipulate objects, I just "Select All" and Group.
Both Steve and a local buddy have done this for me when needed with success.
That rug really tied the room together, did it not?

If they can be converted to a PDF i would appreciate it.  I think my version of Corel may be a little out dated and I should probably upgrade.

Thanks,
Wade

Pretty sure with every new build of Illustrator, they devote a lot of time to make sure Corel does not open file 100% accurately....

I have used the open source program Inkscape to get Corel files into something I can use in Illy. It might work the other way.
