PLR Electronics

Embroidery machines have a lot of electronic components. These components fail on occasion. One of our machines had such a failure. The display quit.

I sent it to PLR Electronics for repair. BIG MISTAKE!!! The control head was in pristine condition physically when I sent it to them via UPS.  It was thoroughly encased in bubble-wrap, placed in a thick cardboard box, and insured for $3,000.00.  I got an email from PLR Electronics letting me know they received my control head and would begin the inspection/diagnosis the next business day.

PLR Electronics contacted me the next day, told me they could fix it for $1,800.00.  I authorized the repair.

When I received the control head back from PLR Electronics, the box was in excellent condition, but the control head was badly smashed in on two corners.  I contacted them and they insisted they did nothing wrong and that it must have been like that when they received it.  My contention is, if it WERE like that when they received it, the box would have been smashed.  PLR Electronics says that if the box had been smashed, they would have refused delivery.

Granted, the smashed-in corners shouldn't prevent the machine from functioning, BUT.....Here is the part that causes me to consider legal recourse. PLR Electronics refuses to accept ANY responsibility for the damages and now that I've installed the control head, the jump motor stays actuated causing the reciprocator to never engage the needle bars, and the thread-picker hook never extends. The machine is non-functioning now. Completely useless. PLR Electronics says the only thing they will "warrant" is the display they fixed.  They refuse to accept any responsibility for the damages and the resultant loss of functionality.

Is there a business that repairs the electronics of embroidery machines that isn't PLR Electronics?  I obviously will have to pay for repairs again, but I'll be DAMNED if I'm going to give another penny to PLR Electronics. If you give a business a rating between 1 and 10, I have to give them NEGATIVE numbers.

NEVER, EVER USE PLR ELECTRONICS!!!
Grant me the ability to change the things I can, the strength to accept the things I cannot and the wisdom to recognize the difference.
