Can you request it delivered by a truck with a lift gate? Usually a little extra but less then a lift rental.

1. Place Chameleon at edge having removed arms and heads.

2. Place 4x6x10 (two or three) under the base just far enough to catch rear base tube. The feet should straddle the 4x6 and be riding on the base tubes. Consider 12’ sections if you want a less extreme angle.

3. Lever your 4x6 sections down til they reach the trailer.

4. Slide Chameleon down the ramp.

5. Drink a beer.

Towing company....call in a flatbed wrecker. They pull the crate with the pallet jack onto the bed, tilt the bed flat, then line wrecker up with trailer and pull crate in. Ive done several shipments this way. In fact, it earned us a towing comapny as a client!

Seems like that would cost about same as a forklift day rental??   Forklift would probably be quicker too?

Tow truck for us was only $50-60. They were happy to take that fee for zero mileage and 10 min total time.

Day rental on a forklift here was near $300, and had to be reserved days ahead based on availability, so the time factor wasnt optimal for that either.

Well, delivery cuts in to the good deal I got. 
I was planning to go to Nashville next weekend to see some friends, so I figured it was a good opportunity to break up the drive.  So I’m picking it up myself.

dock to trailer via SLIDE is a BAD idea, they are heavy , we cant slide our 6 colour around it needs to be picked up with a pallet mover.

Cool, bros... just offering some options for someone who was asking. Everyone should work within their comfort level. It seemed like the primary goal was to save money. Renting a Ryder truck with a lift gate from start to finish (eliminate the trailer altogether) is the easiest option and should be about $120.

Appreciate the suggestions.  Saving money is not the objective - avoiding unnecessary cost is one of the objectives.   I asked because material handling is not my forte - so keep the options coming!  :-)

Second or third for the tilt bed wrecker. Those guys like the change of pace.

Picking up in GA, hauling to W KY.   About 6 hours.

If you take it apart, be sure it can be put back together properly; I know with their autos,  you really need and M&R tech to put it together or it won't be right...

It wouldn't hurt, though from the descriptions from those that have done it, it may be simple enough to disassemble. It's just a phone call...

I attached a schematic I got from M&R when I called about breaking down my Sidewinder 6/6 sideclamp/airlock for crating/shipping.  This should give you an idea of weights of parts for breakdown.

The fun part of crating it was I was the only one doing it.  Took the pallet arms and side clamps off, but was able to lift it with a car jack and some push power onto the 48x48 pallet.  Now it's off to Enterprise, Alabama.

And yes, get a wrecker to do the job for you.....
