Speed-rpm

What would be a good average speed for embroidering polos, sweatshirts and other tops. Our contact at Tajima recommended around 850 rpm would be a good setting. I assume it depends as well a little on the artwork? Caps maybe a little slower?

Yeah, it really depends on the machine and the quality of the digitizing. Our chinese Avance 4 head we are around 500-600, our new Barudan 850-950.

I run my Barudan single head around 800 for flats (no complex or small lettering) and 600 for caps. That being said if the caps have a pretty bold design and I've run them before I'll up it to 800-ish.

This is kind of a loaded question. I would say short answer, run as fast as your machine and design allow for great quality. Certain designs seem to have a sweet rpm spot. Flats are usually between 780-850 for us. Hats usually right around 600ish (puff running slower than that)
Tajimas in my shop.

Thanks. And we are at almost the same numbers as you are. We run as Tajima machines.

That's about right. Any production machine should be able to go a minimum of 800spm all day on flats. I run my Barudan at 850 for everything (minus puff).
