Upgrading I-Image Computer from Win 7 to Win 10
« on: November 05, 2019, 12:24:00 PM »
Has anyone had issues when upgrading from Win 7 to Win 10 the computer that runs your I-Image? I am nervous to upgrade ours.

I'm nervous about that also especially with the iblock on the rocket launcher
It's not a job if you love doing it.

No kidding man!

When we had the rocket launcher, I was able to swap the computers out if I remember correctly.... Granted it was a Win 7 to Win 7 swap but you might be able to get a Win 10 machine and try to load everything on it and test before touching the original machine...

I had thought about doing the same thing with our ST, but I don't really want to buy another computer if it is just a simple upgrade others have done.

Check with pierre on the rocket launcher. I think he runs FilmMaker...so there is always that just in case iBlock has some problems.

I totally forgot about that! You can bypass the iBlock if need be.

TCT,

Do you still have the Rocket launcher or do you have the newer I-Image?  I've updated from 7 to 10 on site but there were some steps to do it before doing so.  Call Digital Dept. They can walk you through it.  Couple small things and in a specific procedure but I don't remember exactly.

We have had a I-Image ST for the last 3 years or so. My main concern is - Whenever ours runs a virus scan it pulls a trojan warning from somewhere in the ColorPrint or Production Manager folders(I don't remember which). When we quarantine the file it corrupts the program next time we open it. Then we have to totally re install it. So we basically just never reset the computer or close the program. I have had a M&R tech on the phone and do a Teamviewer session and he said it was a false positive and they see it a lot? Something about definitions not being updated properly? They had us get rid of the high end virus software my tech friend put on our computers and just use Windows Defender, but it still pulls the same warning.
