Black on black puff

I will preface this post by saying we are about 75% waterbased here so we don’t do a ton of plastisol.

I have a customer that wants black on black puff prints. I’ve done this before and showed them samples and their remark was that the puff print looked charcoal and not black. Agreed. Naturally I used straight black ink on those and the ink color came alteration after the print puffed. Can anybody give me any tips to get the black ink black even after the puff?

Try black over the puff

Use Matsui foam base + 10% black pigment on a 150 mesh double stroke, light flash then print black wb on top using high mesh.

Sometimes the answer to a solution is so simple that you overthink it and never get there.

I printed standard black over the puff black and it turned out great so thanks for the tip!

Dan, I didn’t have all those ingredients here and the job wasn’t large enough to justify the purchase so I just went with Tonys suggestion but thanks for the reply.
