Not just drawers, but also any flat surface otherwise unused at the time. I Once had a foreman back in my die stamping days who jokingly told us how he solved that problem on his home work bench by building it enough of an angle that most things would slide off!  :o

I was going to make the top all glass but had an old light table that I scavenged for essentials. Then I was going to make the top flush to meet the border of the light table but decided some troughs would be better to keep odds and ends.
