I went over it layer by layer. Looks to me like they received a junky copy from the office in Hawaii and they pasted it over green textured paper and cleaned it up a bit to make it readable. No conspiracy, just a bad scan and bad photoshop work.

I'm good with leaving the politics behind, but really, why isn't it a simple scan, 1 layer, you know, a photograph of the original? There is no good reason for anything other than a simple scan or photo, no enhancements.

That was the reason for my original post. It's not too often we have the capability to see what the stir is about. I too wondered why it wasn't a simple jpg scan of the original. That would have been so much easier.

Maybe if they'd read some articles on how to do artwork for screen printing t-shirts, it would have looked better???

I agree, they should have paid more for the art.
From what the facts are, the original is kept in a book. Seems like a quick scan of the page
would have worked.

Incidentally, if you did produce a tshirt with the certificate on, would it be bought by Obama loyalists wishing to publicise the Americanness of their hero or loony redneck conspiracy theorists claiming it's a fake - if it's both - that's a market niche.

you're all forgetting one thing.

Any file/document/graphic/whatever that gets created/edited/handled
by government employees, is likely fubar from the start.
