on press cleaner

Hi one of my screeners has come to me saying she is pregnant which is great  , I really want to make this place a lot safer. Were separating her from the majority of chemicals but on press is a bit of a problem,
What are you guys using for on press screen wipe for smudges or screen opening? particularly anyone in California because you seem to have the strictest rules around VOC's.

We don't use the products but Franmar is going to have some of the cleanest/ greenest stuff out there

We currently use Easiway chemistry. Been wondering what we can replace with alternatives.

Franmar Color Change is a nice on press cleaner. From what I remember, it dries in a couple minutes and didn't seem to leave much of residue.

I know it sounds odd , but we have taken steps with very other cleaning chemical which are as environmentally / sink  safe as possible , I myself have a bad reaction to Varsol type products  so anything even remotely similar doesn't get used. But on press screen wipe down is a problem because oily residue is a time waster.
Have ordered a few different types will see what works best but all have said deep down in there safety sheets that birth defects are possible which i'm sure can be found on any house hold cleaner. Just trying to do better at this point we have a 3M mask and she wont be doing any wipe downs/ screen openings pallet cleaning etc.

Yes - the On Press Color Change is what I recommend for a non oily cleaner.

The Beanie Doo is the oily one and has never been recommended for on press use.  Its meant to be used to remove ink before reclaim and is drain safe.

Both of those products can also be cleaned up with a quick swipe of a wet cloth as they both can be thinned out with water.

In general, the world of screen cleaning chemicals is a murky one.  Be careful who you talk to about chemistry, its easy to spin products that are considered borderline or that contain a smaller percentage of the harmful chems that clean really well.

Perhaps "safer than some" would be more accurate. At any rate, apparently, there is a trade off for their less oily product for this job.

There will be an update to their MSDS sheet for the on press cleaner in the near future.  Regulations, R&D, and such
