May 2 is National Screen Printing Day, but at InkSoft, the celebration will last for the entire month. The company, which offers software solutions for print shops to manage their marketing, orders and production in a single platform, is sponsoring a contest. The winner will receive a $500 credit from Allmade Apparel, a company that offers a line of socially responsible, environmentally friendly blank garments.
InkSoft commissioned a graphic called “Print or Die.” This design represents a battle cry for the decorated apparel industry and is intended to be a tribal community badge to rally screen printers from around the world. Contestants are invited to come up with a creative way to print this artwork and submit it for judging. Any decorating process is eligible including direct or indirect screen printing, heat applied graphics (inkjet, color laser printer, sublimation), printer/cutter transfers and decals, embroidery, digital direct to garment and signage.
Interpretations could be a trendy decorating technique, printing it on a unique new product, or even a dramatic wall display. The winner will be determined by community votes.
Once your submission is ready, post it on Instagram and tag it with @inksoft, @allmadeapparel, and the hashtag #printordiecontest. After May 31, finalists will be selected and posted on InkSoft’s blog for voting. Voting will close June 15. At the conclusion of the voting, the winner will be announced on social media, the industry press, and be presented with the prize.
