New Year
« on: February 04, 2019, 12:32:46 PM »
Of course it has passed however, since I have my new/oldtimey record player I have re-discovered vinyl. My sweetheart that will never be is Regina Spektor. If you can find the song "New Year" its on the Remember us to Life album.. Guess my metal days are over!

I met her at a private show in Atlanta in 2003.  We hung out before and after her set, nice girl!  Of course this was WAY before she was famous.

For those of you are so inclined, you can youtube most of her music/vidieos. She is too good for mainstream radio. There are many others of course, but I think she is one of the best.

Favorite tracks:

Eet
Samson
Human of the Year
Better
Fidelity

Haven't listened to any of her newer stuff, but I'll have to put it on while I'm printing today and see how it sounds!

All good tracks. Enjoy! She doesn't write/sing/play a bad song in my book.

She is best (imo) when she is solo on the piano. Violins help however. Writers/composers/players are rare these days. Think of James Taylor and Carol King. It is a long list. Not interested in "Whos got talent"
