Deep clean - equipment and floor

It’s the most wonderful time of the year, time to clean!

Looking for suggestions to break through the adhesive buildup on and around the equipment.

We have used Goo Gone in the past, which works great but is really for smaller applications.

For us this stuff works the best on adhesive residue. It even removes the goo left over from Gorilla tape.

I'd rent a floor scrubber with the big circular pad.  Simple mineral spirits with that thing will do the job just fine.  Fast as heck too, and nobody is crawling around on the floor.

If you use elbow grease rather than machine, a long-handled scraper can be very helpful. In days past, where spray tack was used all day every day, I've saturated the floor with citrus cleaner, and then scraped up the gunk. After all cleaning was done, we'd repaint the concrete floor. Mind the fumes, though - without proper filtration, you might have a nasty migraine by the end of the day.

If you're paying an employee hourly to do this, renting a scrubber for $50-$100 a day will save you a lot in labor costs.  The scraper is still great for areas a scrubber/buffer can't get.

Definitely agree with renting the floor scrubber for large areas. Works great.  We sometimes will spray, let it sit, and then come back to scrap/scrub the reside off.

For presses and metal parts we use WD-40 to wipe off ink and adhesive. Leaves a film behind that helps resist adhesive a little while not being as aggressive as mineral spirits. Recently picked up that tip from Rodney at MHM/Hirsch. really happy with that method so far.
