Off Center Cap Design

I have a racing team looking to get their logo embroidered off center (to one side) on the front of the cap. The customer has seen it done, but I'm having trouble finding a contract embroiderer who does it. Any suggestions

It's not difficult.  The design might have to be shrunk, but it's easy enough.  It's hard to imagine why they wouldn't.

Okay, it now sounds like position really has nothing to do with it. It's a size thing. Wouldn't work in the center either.

We have an order in house just like that, a reorder actually. It can be done if the art is right, meaning stitchable, but the limitations are what they are.

I was just asked to do this as well (then the custie balked at a dozen hats costing $9-$11 each, saying she expected them to be half of that!)

That made me think of these old hats from the "Bay Bridge Series" before inter-league play was the norm.

Going to guess here but the comment you made "It's a fairly complex design, they said they would have to shrink it down and it wouldn't stitch well' tells me either the embroidery shop you contacted is new or quite experienced.
Complex designs on hats create a serious registration and repeatability issues.
The comment that the design has to be reduced in size further suggests added complexity and problems.
It would help to see the design but I would strongly suggest you resize it and get it digitized for cap work. The design for flats will not work well on caps simply due to the pathing and sequencing of the stitches. Additionally i would take a close look at the structure of the cap. Depending on how high and low the design will land on the cap the mechanics may simply be beyond a reasonable expectation.
Have you thought  about possibly getting a woven (no embroidered) patch of the design and heat pressing it on?

Your best bet may be a custom cap.  CapAmerica may be a good choice.

I would also suggest a patch of some kind, much better look. Quantity might be an issue.
