Squeegee Cleaning Solution
« on: September 16, 2018, 07:37:33 PM »
We need to up our squeegee cleaning game. What do you all use to quickly clean squeegees? Thinking automated, maybe just a huge squgee tank? I didn't think that those pumps that pump chemicals through the brushes pushed enough liquid through. Do they?
I spend too much money on equipment...

I've been very happy with our Shur-Loc Squeegee Clean but it stinks for winged floodbars. As far as automated goes, I've used a parts washer from Crystal Clean that connected to air and had a platform that moved up and down. It basically agitated the parts in the solution. To be honest I rarely used that feature though.

The smart washer does. We use it, ONLY FOR PLASTISOL. but it does leave a film over everything, which is honestly gross, and needs to be rinsed with water.

Another option is to take them to the reclaim tank spray them with 701 scrub then pressure wash. They come out spotless.

I got us a Shurloc cleaner a little over a month ago. Haven't cleaned a squeegee or flood bar since, so it must be working :)

I do wish it was a little bigger for the winged flood bars, but overall it rules. So much faster than our old parts washer. Worth the $$$.

I moved my smart washer next to a sink just for that purpose.  That film turns to hard screen popping granules eventually.
It's not a job if you love doing it.

Put some of our 842 in the machine with the heater off... ask Danny about it.

Can you link me to that machine?

Just ordered that shurloc contraption to try that also. If not it will go on ebay. I feel like we've been going through 100 squeegees a day these last couple months. Too  many 5 color jobs all pms colors.
