Water base tack spray set-ups

One of the things that should not be lost in this discussion about water based glue - is the fact that you can scrub your platens clean of all lint build up.  This gives you a very smooth surface and is more beneficial than most realize if you are printing on a lot of Ring Spun garments or Tri-Blends/super soft fashion garments.

Just spraying more glue on top of the lint definitely increases production throughput, but you end up with that bumpy/textured platen surface.  If you are printing standard 6.1oz T's its not that big a deal.  With the thinner fabrics, you can see that texture in your prints.

As a side note, I used a water based glue sprayer back in the early 2000's.  It worked well, but like others have said, lots of overspray.  Personally, I would only use it for fleece.

We are going with 1 tekmar tb1000 to test with the spray hook set up and the hanging gun to make sure the newer technology guns do as they say. I will report back on the result. Thanks for all the input

I have the tekmar gun setup. After tweaking the settings and teaching the press operator not to overspray, the system works perfectly.

Thank you. With the settings right I remember the glue being totally dry instantly when it hits the pallet and virtually no over spray with a trained operator. Tekmar publishes with the proper set-up 1 quart of glue replaces 36 cans of tack. Like i said last year we spent 14k on spray tack. we figure buying 8 set-ups at 1700 each with savings in tack and all the maintenance and cleanup time the ROI will be less than a year. I figured 32 5's of the TB10 in there also. I will post results and a video once I have it installed. We are waiting on the sky hook so it will be another 10 working days.

We built a downdraft table for under the load/onload station.

Used an air mover used to clean up floods, and it works great.

We just use on old 110 on the top for the filter, and most of the overspray goes into it when the guys are running spray glue. ( We only use web for fleece, But still)

Not to mention a ton of lint.

Tekmar has a filter set up for under the unload station. Do you recommend that?
