Animated GIF's in Corel?
« on: December 02, 2011, 09:56:34 AM »
I have just started doing these in Photoshop (actually Image Ready, which is now incorporated into Photoshop)

Does Photopaint handle this as well?

Yes you can, just create your objects on different layers then save as an animated GIF

Well I can see that this is going to be a whole new learning experience as Photoshop and Image Ready have a whole animation window for this with adding pages and "Tweening" to control timing and opacity.
tutes are also readily avaiable.

I have been stumbling around, but "layers" in Photoshop are, I think "objects" in Photopaint, and not something I've messed with much.

Yes sir you are correct.  I have animated a good bit of art using Image Ready. Pretty cool lil app yet Image Ready has been with Photoshop since at least version 7, most likely previous versions as well.

From what I have gathered, since CS3 it is integrated into the program, rather than a stand-alone but included program.
Thing is, the v7 Photoshop help files, to me, implied that it was all done in PS. I forget how I found the need for Image Ready, which was right there, already installed on my computer.
I do have a feeling, that once again, since I have nothing to prove in this instance, I will be sticking with the Adobe product for my animated gifs.

I would stick with Adobe as well.  I am a huge Corel fan yet when it comes to raster images I stick with Adobe.  I just learned adobe on raster work before I started learning Photopaint just as I learned DRAW for my vector before even thinking about illy.

In PS7, Image Ready is linked on the tool bar.  When you are working on a layered file in PS and want to animate, all you do is click the IR button on the tool bar and it auto populates into IR and back into PS.  Very nice.   I am sure CS versions are the same if not better integration though.

Cool app to animate stuff.  Here is a simple one I did a couple years back.

I created the objects in CorelDRAW, and then copied and pasted as layers into Image Ready. No Photoshop involved.

That works as well.  Just was letting you know about the PS layers, etc and IR or anyone else who see this thread.

I am working on a new one for this year. Its taking me forever but is more animated and has a bit of a story.  Work on it, off and on due to paying customers art always comes first.
