Need film output printer
« on: February 27, 2018, 06:49:10 AM »
My old Epson Stylus 3000 will not print. I think it is the pumping mechanism I just replaced the print head. I need to get something a little more up to date. I like the ability to print wide 14" but can live without that option. What are the screen printers here using. I use Film maker V4 for RIP. Thanks in Advance

4800/4880 is a workhorse if used frequently.

We have used the 1400, 7600 and now a 7900 series epson. I bought both of our printers on craigslist for $300 or under. Both with minor issues that we were able to fix or bypass. The 7600 I almost prefer, because it doesn't stretch out the film in the roll / feed direction. But you can compensate for it in accurip. You can go up to 24"w, but we output with 17" film. 7900 is great with the cheapo refill carts and a decent rip.
