Saati Ultra Fix PT Pallet adhesive?
« on: December 27, 2017, 11:09:23 AM »
Anyone try this product?
Is it competitive with something like Tekmar? I currently use TekMar TB HV, and a quart has lasted me well over a couple of years with my low volume screen printing. Even this I had a little trouble getting locally and ended up going direct.
One of my (semi) local suppliers offers this product from Saati, and wondered how it ranks.
The Albatross product I used before Tekmar was not quite as good as the TB HV.

I haven't used the Saati but just wanted to add my 2 cents that Tekmar > Albatross. I went through the Albotross stuff incredibly quickly.

Not a fan here Andy.

My guys don't like the Saati web tac either. It doesn't "web" really, it's weird stuff.

Don't let our experience dissuade you though, it could be the best thing since sliced bread for the right person.
Kinda bummed that Denco has kind of sort of started only carrying Saati though.

FWIW CCI Top Bond is still the best pallet adhesive we've found.

I tried it.
Prefer the Tekmar TB HV.
They'll ship it to you.

I like CCI Top Bond.

Any of y'all use the technique of misting with water and scrubbing off the lint to refresh the adhesive?  I've been surprised how many printers don't do it.  But then I don't get out that much either....

Actually, over the years, we've seen many posts comparing "scrubbers" of choice. Some use stiff brushes, I use one of those blue pot scrubby sponges.

I use one of the "stiff" foam pads like you see here: http://www.screenprintsupplies.com/products/details/brush-pad-with-handle. Spray bottle of water, mist, scrub, like new.  Adhesive will last thousands of shirts without reapplying.

Been using A LOT of web spray recently due to fleece season and everyone wanting weird blends that hate waerbased adhesive for whatever reason.  Its like every shirt is coated in silicon these days.  I LOVE the jobs on standard ringspun or gildan shirts when they come in.  So much easier to print when it comes to the adhesive.

fixed the link.  It looks like it added the period at the end of the sentence into the URL by default for some reason.

But it linked to some white plastisol. Very strange.

I’ve been using the Tekmar adhesive and I’ve used it for many jobs by just spraying down the pallet and wiping with a rag. I’ve been very happy with it, although I’m a very low volume shop and using mostly standard gildan 100% cotton.

I’ve got a grill brush that I’ve used the last 2 years. I’ll spray the pallet with water then scrub with the bristles forward and back, side to side. Then I'll take the sharp end and scrape the pallet to clear off any of the lint that was partially still on there. Lastly, I'll put some adhesive on the pallet and use the soft brush side to spread it around. Has worked well for me and I get a lot of life out of my pallet tape. Only thing I've found is I need to put new tape on when doing performance shirts, as any shaped or irregularities in the pallet can show through on the print.
