INK SUITABLE FOR CERAMIC FIRING
mooseman:
Met a guy yesterday who is starting a community based arts something or other. He asked if I knew anything about printing "decals" as he called them for transfer to green ceramics and suitable for kiln firing of the ceramics. the "ink" as he called it would have to endure the kiln process.
I referred him to Nazdar best i could do for him but anyone out there have any suggestions or can offer any further info on this process that I can share with him ?
Thanks
mooseman
rusty:
yeah, Nazdar would have the ADE series and you need a ceramic catalyst. I haver been trying to get into this but haven't had time.
He is probably referring to water slide decals. The only ink company I can think of off the top of my head is ferro, I'll pull out a post later today.
Bearded Lady:
I have some ceramics friends that use an inkjet decal that works with the glazing and firing process but I know there are also glazing mediums that can be screen printed onto decals or directly onto ceramics. I'd have them contact the folks at Armadillo Clay, they'll know what to use. http://www.armadilloclay.com/
mooseman:
Thanks Rusty and Bearded for your reply. Your time and energy will help me help him and yes he did use the term water slide now that you mention it.
Please follow up if you can rusty with the other info you may have.
This guy was quite sincere and a real gentleman with your help we can assist him in advancing his vision of the arts.
Respectfully

He can also get decals made here: http://www.beldecal.com
though I have never used them and cannot attest to the quality.
