Win 7 Machine font is odd
« on: November 02, 2017, 05:57:32 PM »
and I can't find the place in Control Panel/Personalization to check it and change it. It doesn't seem to want to give me any option though everything I read says that's where it happens.
In the attached screen shot you can see that it's even adding crossed-out "W"s". What's up with that? ???

If I'm understanding the problem correctly..?

1) Check here ( see attached pic )
2) Check if you've accidentally deleted this font: Sergoe UI ( default font )

I'm just trying to change the Win 7 display fonts. I don't think that it is limited to CorelDRAW or any other specific application.
The tip to look in Personalization was an answer to "how do I change my Win 7 display font"?

I am posting this anyway, but I see that a new reply from Chadwick may be onto something.

So, where the heck is this Color and appearance? That's what I was looking for!

Okay, found the color thing, but am still looking as to where it lists my font and choices

Long way: Control Panel / Appearance and Personalization / Personalization / Window color Appearance

Inside window below color mixer
Advanced appearance settings in blue text

Well, this is crazy. I get to this window, but it won't let me expand it or navigate in it.

Actually, this particular machine is used sparingly but I think that it's been this way for a while. It's the one in my reception area, and since I mostly work online, I don't use this one for much art. Obviously, today I noticed it big time working in Corel!
Perhaps the windows disk can fix it.

Chadwick was right when he asked if that Segoe UI font was missing. It was!
I have since copied it from my main machine, installed it, and now the entire window displays. I have to go out now but am almost sure that I am now on track to solve this.
I'll know in an an hour or so when I return.
Thanks all!

Heck, I couldn't wait, I just checked the Corel menu and Voila! Installing the correct system font was all it took.

Glad that fixed it.
The lesson here, if there is one, is don't mess with the system's fonts.
lol.
