Anyone run an M&R Performer / install wisdom required
« on: November 02, 2017, 01:58:46 PM »
Wondering if anyone else on the forum runs a Performer or Challenger II?

I'm waiting on an M&R tech coming over from Poland (I'm based in Scotland) to reinstall the press as I had it done by the previous owner's engineer as part of the sale package.

Unfortunately platens and heads turned out to not be levelled properly (I think outside of official manufacturer techs there's few independents in the UK - unless I'm mistaken?)

The press runs great considering, with the exception of a few platens giving misregistered prints, as you would expect with the above issue, so I'm planning on levelling arms, platens and heads over the weekend (any advice greatly appreciated!)

I'm confident doing the work and moreso by the fact a tech will be with me next month. I don't intend to check or tweak the bearings myself at this stage as these are my first autos (I picked up two), certainly more book savvy than experience at this stage. After completing these tasks I'm hoping the issue will be resolved, if not at least improved! Is there anything else I should look out for? I've searched and had a read of previous posts (such as ZooCitys issue with press reg) to broaden my knowledge of what to look out for.

First post! Thanks for having me, I look forward to contributing to the forum at some point along this journey. Been on manuals for 8 years, keen to jump into TSB and learn from all those I already follow the work off!
